FESTIVUS 2018

First Steps

First, there was Facebook Events, an unsophisticated system from a long past time. After four years of lazily and haphazardly announcing the annual event, the Forum Festivus Authority impulsively threw together a very insulting graphic to request participant information that would begin a tradition of invitational excellence that persists to this day.

Festivus at a Distance

In the immediate aftermath of the COVID-19 Lockdowns of 2020, as the future of in-person gatherings was unclear, the Forum Festivus Authority determined that the best possible invitation would be one that could be received physically by all members while still embodying the principles of the lockdown. As such, a summons was issued.

An Opportunity Arises

As the COVID-19 Pandemic era neared its end, a major topic of discussion formed around the newly developed MRNA Vaccine technology.

2022

The 2022 Festivus Season has been characterized as "Low Quality" and "Displaying a Severe Lack of Foresight" due to the digital-only image macro format. However, great lengths were taken to ensure that these image macros, or "memes" as they are sometimes affectionately called, accurately resembled the media they were mimicking, from the crunchy, "deep fried" aesthetic to the sparser, more artistically devoid pop-up ad look.

FESTIVUS 2023

A Day at the Derby

The Derby sub-theming was meant to signify an air of luxury and tradition, as well as to celebrate one Forum Member’s success in equestrian investment. Replica Derby tickets were issued and attached to the Brochure in the large white area.

HOOVES Magazine

To set the tone for the new decade of Festivus Celebrations, the Forum Festivus Authority published HOOVES, a 60 Page magazine modeled after Vanity Fair complete with articles, ads, and Op-Eds.

Forum Festivus Authority: The Official Video Game

While 2024’s ambitious invitation was still hot off the presses, questions arose over how it would be topped. After months of interrogation and brainstorming, the idea arose to make the 2025 invitation interactable.
